Canoe Trail Poleska Dolina Bugu

The Poleska Dolina Bugu canoe trail starts in Świerże. A convenient place to launch kayaks is at the end of the park at the storey building of the former mill. After 2.5 km we reach Hniszów where at a distance of about 1.5 km from the river we can admire the enormous monument of nature Bolko oak. Then we pass the villages of Siedliszcze and Wola Uhruska. We reach Zbereże, where European Good-Neighborhood Days have been organized for several years in August. In these days you can go to Ukraine and visit Szacki National Park with a pontoon bridge.

The further part of the trail runs along a very picturesque section of the river, in places with a very high steep bank. After about 4 hours from Zbereże on the way passing Sobibór we reach the triple border of the place where the borders of Poland, Ukraine and Belarus connect. We will recognize this place by the net above the river protecting the border of our eastern neighbors as well as the border pole with the inscription “BUG”. About 100 meters further by the old water pumping station there is a wooden gazebo and a convenient exit to the shore is a very good place for a break.

An attraction on this route are also the remains of a railway bridge from the 19th century on the Chełm-Brest line which are located in the vicinity of the village of Orchówek. It is worth taking a break in Włodawa, located on the Bug River itself, on the water gauge famous for its daily radio messages. Włodawa as “City of Three Cultures” also has a lot to offer tourists. In Kuzawka, 32 km from Włodawa, the 110 km canoe trail Poleska Dolina Bugu ends.
